Vampire
Draculaura, the daughter of Dracula, sets the template: fangs, a pink, black and white wardrobe and a pet bat named Count Fabulous. Her freaky flaw is that she can't see her own reflection, and she faints at the sight of blood. In the 2022 series she secretly practices witchcraft, which is forbidden in the monster world.

Werewolf
Clawdeen Wolf is the daughter of a werewolf, with pierced wolf ears, three siblings and plans to become a fashion designer. Werewolves in the franchise are strongest and fastest at the full moon, and moodier too. In the 2022 series her mother is a werewolf and her father is human, and a moonclaw talisman lets her transform at will.

Mummy
Cleo de Nile is the daughter of the mummy pharaoh Ramses de Nile. She looks 16 but is thousands of years old, rules the school as its queen bee and captains the fearleading squad, with gold bandage wraps in her outfits. A mummy OC can be ancient and still brand new to phones, music and cafeteria gossip.

Stitched monster
Frankie Stein, the franchise's central character, is the daughter of Frankenstein's monster and his bride: made of many parts, able to spark electricity and only 15 days old when the web series begins. In the 2022 reboot Frankie is non-binary, has blue skin and no neck bolts, so seams alone can carry the look.

Sea monster
Lagoona Blue is the daughter of a sea monster. In the original line she is a blue-skinned swimmer from the Great Scarrier Reef who can talk with water animals; in the 2022 series she is a pink-skinned Honduran sea monster who grew up in a sunken castle. Ghouls, mansters and every other monster
Girls at Monster High are called ghouls and boys are mansters. The original six ghouls include Ghoulia Yelps, the daughter of a zombie couple, and the school also takes in ghosts like Spectra Vondergeist, Medusa's son Deuce Gorgon, the yeti's daughter Abbey Bominable and the werecat Toralei Stripe. To make one of these, clear the heritage tile and name the monster parent in Extra details.

Freaky just got fabulous
The line grew out of goth fashion: creator Garrett Sander and his twin brother Darren noticed young girls were into goth style, and Darren came up with the slogan "Freaky Just Got Fabulous!" Each character mixes their monster family into a real style, so pick one look and let the heritage show in the details: bandages as trim, scales as sequins, stitches as seams.

Whether you call it a Monster High OC, a ghoul or your own Monster High character, a strong one comes down to five decisions. The generator handles the drawing; these are worth making first.

Every student at Monster High is the son or daughter of a famous monster, and the name, the look and the powers all come from that family. Start with a classic like a vampire or a mummy, or pick a monster from folklore that the main cast does not already cover.

Turn the heritage into fashion
Pick one fashion style, then let the family show in the details: bandage wraps as trim, scales as sequins, seams as piping, bat wings as a collar. Monster High is aimed at kids 7 to 16, so keep the outfit school-appropriate: sleeves, knee-length hems, leggings and boots.

Pick colors the main cast does not own
Fans spot palettes fast. Pink hair with black streaks reads as Draculaura, blue skin with blond curls as Lagoona, gold bandages as Cleo, and stitches with black-and-white hair as Frankie. Choose a skin and hair pair outside those and your OC stands on their own.
