This free creepypasta OC creator draws your own creepypasta character for you. Pick a proxy, entity, glitch ghost, cryptid or cursed doll, choose where the legend began and how it haunts, write the one rule people whisper about, and get eerie, cute-creepy art with no gore.

Ideas
Stuck on a legend? Load one of these into the creepypasta OC maker, then change the mask, the glow or the rule until the character feels like yours. All six are cute-creepy, with no gore.

Know the rules
The archetype decides what your OC is, and the origin and the rule decide how people find out about it. Pick one of each and the legend falls into place.

A proxy is a person who has fallen under an entity's influence. The idea comes from Marble Hornets, the found-footage YouTube series in the Slender Man mythos that started in June 2009, where people in masks and hoods come under the influence of a faceless entity called the Operator. A proxy OC works best with a mask that hides who they were and one reason to break free.

The entity is the legend itself. Slender Man, the best known, began on June 10, 2009, when Eric Knudsen, posting as Victor Surge, added a tall, thin figure to two old black-and-white photos for a paranormal-image contest on the Something Awful forums. A strong entity is known by one look and one rule, and it rarely explains itself.

Haunted games and digital ghosts live inside a device. BEN Drowned, posted on 4chan's /x/ board in September 2010 by Alexander D. Hall as Jadusable, began with a haunted Majora's Mask cartridge and grew into an alternate reality game. Haunted cartridges are now on the Creepypasta Wiki's cliché list, so give a glitch OC a fresher home: a save file, a handheld, a dead website.

A cryptid belongs to one place: a lake, a trail, a stretch of road. The Rake, a monster made up by 4chan users in 2005, is an early example of a cryptid invented online. Give yours a town, a season when it is seen and a reason people still go looking.

Cursed dolls and objects haunt a house instead of a spot on the map. The Creepypasta Wiki's cliché list includes dolls that attack people, so a doll that moves only when nobody watches, mends things or rearranges the room feels fresher, and it keeps the story cute-creepy.
Candle Cove, a 2009 story by Kris Straub, is written as a forum thread where adults remember an early-1970s kids' show on Channel 58 that grows stranger the more they recall. It led to Local 58, an analog horror series of fake old broadcasts. A host, a mascot or a weather presenter from a show nobody else remembers makes a strong OC.
Ted the Caver, from 2001, is often called the first creepypasta, and the stories people still retell give readers a rule they can test. Slender Man stood in the background of photos; Candle Cove was a show only some people remember. Write your OC's rule in one line in the Legend rule box.
Names and rules
Creepypasta characters often go by a nickname and a first name, the way a story gets passed around. Mix one, then pick the rule your legend follows. Every click goes straight onto your OC in the generator.

Guide
Whether fans call it a creepypasta OC or an OC creepypasta, the characters people remember come down to five decisions. The generator does the drawing; these are worth making first.
A proxy, an entity, a glitch, a cryptid and a cursed doll each live a different story. Then choose the origin: a haunted game, a VHS tape, a forum post, an ARG or a late-night broadcast. The origin decides how witnesses meet your OC and what the picture should hint at.
Classic legends give readers a rule they can test, like the tall figure that only shows up in the background of photos. Write one line in the Legend rule box, keep it small and specific, and let the rest of the OC follow from it.
A cracked mask, a lamp for a head, a scarf of unspooled tape: one strong shape and one glow color read at thumbnail size. Stay away from the famous looks, like a white hoodie with a wide grin, a blue mask, orange goggles, a black-and-white clown or a tall, faceless figure in a suit.
The Creepypasta Wiki keeps a list of them: red or black eyes that make everyone hate the character, the numbers 6, 13 and 666, catchphrases, and the bullied kid who turns into a monster. Use one with care at most. A quiet, strange detail is creepier, and it keeps your OC teen-safe with no gore.
Decide who saw your OC first, where and when, and what they found afterward, like a cassette tape on the porch. That is the seed of your pasta. Write the story in your own words; an OC backstory generator is on the way for ideas.
