Formats

Choose a grid challenge

A good grid gives each square a job. Start with one of these familiar formats, then rewrite the captions to fit your story.

3x3 character styles

A 3x3 generator can show nine art styles for one character. Use the same silhouette, hair shape or accessory in all nine panels to connect the designs. The style grid is particularly useful when you are deciding how a new OC should look.

  • Nine styles
  • One character
  • Consistent details

Alignment chart

Use three rows and three columns to compare how your cast approaches rules and relationships. Labels are editable, so you can replace the classic alignment terms with your own story categories.

  • Cast comparison
  • Moral choices
  • Editable labels

Portfolio board

Collect nine characters you have made over time. Use the grid as a quick introduction to your original cast, or group designs by shared world, story arc or visual theme.

  • Nine OCs
  • One image
  • Shareable portfolio

Six fanarts challenge

Choose a 2x3 board when six large panels will present your art better than nine small ones. Add requests, portraits or alternate looks. The images never leave your browser while you arrange them.

  • Six panels
  • Larger art
  • Community prompt

Expression sheet

Place one expression in each panel and compare face shape at a glance. Move each uploaded image within its frame until the eyes line up cleanly across the row.

  • Six expressions
  • Face study
  • Drag to frame

Seasons and elements

A 2x2 grid gives four variants room to breathe. Try spring, summer, autumn and winter, or fire, water, earth and air. Color themes can reinforce the set without changing the uploaded art.

  • Four variations
  • Seasonal palettes
  • Elemental forms

Zodiac board

Try a 4x4 grid for a larger collection. Twelve boxes can show signs, while the remaining four can hold a title card, special form or your own extra prompts.

  • Twelve signs
  • Sixteen cells
  • Large collection

Blank grid

Start without a preset when you already have a personal challenge in mind. Choose 2x2, 2x3, 3x3 or 4x4, write your own title and labels, then upload only the art you want to show.

  • Flexible size
  • Custom title
  • Your prompts

Guide

How to make an OC meme grid

The editor works on desktop and phones. No account is needed, and the images are handled locally in this browser tab.

  1. 1

    Pick the shape and challenge

The default is a 3x3 grid with the My OC in 9 styles prompts. Open the template menu for alignment, portfolio, expression, fanarts, seasons, elements, zodiac or blank. You can change the size independently whenever a different number of panels fits your artwork.

  2. 2

Write a useful title and labels

Give the board a title that tells viewers what to compare. Tap a cell, edit its label, or press Random label when you need a new character prompt. The randomizer changes only the chosen cell, so work in progress elsewhere stays intact.

  3. 3

    Add images privately

Tap a cell, then Upload image to cell. The file is read locally in the browser and is never sent to our server. The page does not save uploaded image files to local storage. Closing the tab clears them.

  4. 4

    Frame and rearrange

Drag an image inside its cell to shift the crop. Use the zoom slider for a closer view. On a phone, tap Choose cell to swap and then tap the destination. On a desktop, you can also drag a filled cell onto another cell.

  5. 5

    Set a color theme

Paper gives the grid a warm sketchbook feel. Bubblegum suits bright character art, cobalt makes a bold title band, and night works well for dramatic palettes. The theme changes the board background and panel color, not the original images.

  6. 6

    Save and share

Use Download PNG for a large image that is ready to share. Copy labels makes a text list for a post caption. Favorite stores only your title, layout and prompts on this device. Draw this OC moves the written concept into the original character generator.
