Mira Fenwick portrait

Fantasy courier

Mira Fenwick

A small town messenger with a secret map.

Short copper curls, ink stained fingers, and a blue coat with too many pockets.

“Every path belongs to someone.”

Pax Orin portrait

Cozy sci-fi mechanic

Pax Orin

A repair expert who collects lost signals.

Silver work jacket, dark curls, and a small toolkit clipped to one boot.

“Nothing is too broken to listen to.”

Tessa Bramble portrait

Forest festival organizer

Tessa Bramble

A practical host whose careful lists hide a fear of disappointing her neighbors. Her profile shows how a small responsibility can create a clear goal and a believable conflict.

A moss green waistcoat, a pencil behind one ear, and boots patched with bright thread. She carries folded schedules in every pocket.

“The good part starts when everyone arrives.”

Oren Vell portrait

Desert archive apprentice

Oren Vell

An apprentice who catalogs sounds rather than objects. This biography connects an unusual job, a visual motif, and a relationship that can drive future scenes.

A cream scarf pinned with little copper bells, a sand-colored notebook, and round blue lenses that keep grit out of his eyes.

“Listen first. The road will tell you where it goes.”

Lumi Reed portrait

Floating market gardener

Lumi Reed

A gardener who trades seedlings from a boat. The small personal details make this character usable in a cozy comic, a roleplay scene, or a longer adventure.

A striped apron over a pink raincoat, muddy freckles, and a sun hat decorated with seed packets.

“There is room for one more pot.”

Cassian Vale portrait

Mountain observatory guide

Cassian Vale

A guide who knows the stars but is learning to trust people. Load this character to compare a long backstory with a short social profile.

A cobalt parka with silver repairs, ink marked gloves, and a small brass compass hanging from his neck.

“A map is a promise to the next traveler.”

Use this oc template bio as an oc description creator, oc profile creator or oc creator sheet. An oc description is easier to share once it has a clear role and a specific detail. This profile oc layout also works for longer oc profiles.

Layouts

Choose a character bio format

One draft, four ways to share it. Switch layouts without retyping a word.

Character sheet card

A structured profile with stat bars, a portrait and readable sections.

  • Print friendly
  • PNG card

Toyhouse style profile

A compact profile ready to adapt for a character gallery. Copy a safe HTML snippet.

  • HTML export
  • Profile details

Social profile card

A concise visual summary with a memorable quote and top details.

  • Quick share
  • Portrait

Plain text template

A simple format for notes, forums or a blank printable worksheet.

  • Markdown
  • Plain text

Writer reference sheet

Keep a compact record of appearance, motivation, relationships and a voice sample beside a manuscript. A reference sheet prevents a detail from changing between chapters. Leave uncertain fields open until the story gives you a reason to decide.

  • Continuity notes
  • Editable draft

Roleplay introduction

Lead with a role, a visible detail and a reason to talk to this character. The social card is useful for a quick introduction, while the long card gives partners enough background to start a scene without reading an entire biography.

Guide

How to write a useful OC biography

Start with the details that make the character recognizable, then add the reason they act as they do.

  1. 1

    Give them a concrete role

A job, hobby or responsibility grounds the character in a world. Try “repairs the canal gates” instead of “helps people.” That job gives them a place to be, tools to carry and neighbors who have opinions about their work. Add a specific goal that follows from the role. A character profile generator is most useful when its details suggest what the OC might do next, so keep the role visible even if the story later changes it.

  2. 2

    Connect traits to history

Show a turning point that explains a habit, fear or goal. A brave character can still hesitate before crossing a bridge if an old mistake happened there. Describe the event plainly, then show the choice they make now. Avoid listing several disasters just to make the backstory dramatic. One believable change often gives you more scenes than a page of unrelated tragedies. Use the backstory box for the event and the personality box for its present effect.

  3. 3

    Add relationships

Name who they care about and where there is tension. A relationship should do more than label someone as a friend or rival. Say what the two people want from each other, what they disagree about, and what one might do for the other. You can begin with one supportive connection and one unfinished conversation. These links make a character useful in a comic, campaign or collaborative story, even before you have a full plot.

  4. 4

Find a visual anchor and a voice

Pick two or three visible details that another artist could draw without guessing: a repaired coat, a particular bag, or a way of tying back their hair. A signature quote should sound like the same person speaking in a scene. Read it aloud and remove words they would never use. The portrait upload lets you compare your drawing with the written description in the live preview. That image stays in the browser and is never uploaded or stored.

  5. 5

Rate strengths without making a perfect hero

Move the four stat bars to show the balance between courage, kindness, wit and creativity. A lower score is a prompt for scenes rather than a judgment about the character. A bold inventor might need help reading a room; a kind guide might freeze when an old promise is tested. Lock scores you have already decided, then reroll the others for a fresh contrast. The live sheet shows the bars beside the written details so inconsistencies are easy to spot.

  6. 6

    Preview and share

Switch layouts without changing the underlying draft. Use the sheet for reference, the Toyhouse-style profile for a character gallery, the social card for a quick introduction, and plain text for a forum or private notes. Copy plain text or Markdown for an editable post. Copy the Toyhouse-ready HTML snippet when you need simple safe markup. Download a PNG of the current card or a blank printable template for handwriting. Check the pasted result before publishing it elsewhere.
