Mirror Step

EmitterHero name: Looking GlassAs a villain: Smudge

Rei can step into any mirror or clean reflection and come out of another one she has seen within the last hour.

How it works

  • The reflection must be big enough for her whole body.
  • She has to remember the exit mirror clearly.
  • Each step takes about a second of total darkness.

Drawbacks

  • Smudged or cracked glass throws her out a few steps off target.
  • More than ten steps in a row leaves her dizzy and nauseous.

Special moves

  1. Looking Glass Lunge

Steps out of a mirror behind an enemy and strikes before they turn.

  2. Shard Relay

Throws mirror shards across a room, then hops between them.

  3. Silver Exit

Carries one rescued civilian through a reflection to safety.

Costume & gear: A navy bodysuit with silver plating on the shins and a visor that polishes itself, plus a belt of folding pocket mirrors.

Training tip: Memorize the mirrors in every building she patrols, the way other heroes memorize exits.

Quirk types

MHA quirk types, explained

In My Hero Academia, fans and the series sort quirks into three broad types. Picking one first gives your OC’s quirk clear rules, and every quirk still needs a cost.

Emitter quirks example

Emitter quirks

The user projects, creates or controls something outside their body: fire, sound, ink, a pull toward a spot. The most common type for OC quirks.

  • projects
  • controls
  • creates
Transformation quirks example

Transformation quirks

The user changes their body for a while and then changes back: hardened skin, a bigger frame, an animal form. Strong, but the change takes time and stamina.

  • switches on
  • temporary
  • stamina cost
Mutant quirks example

Mutant quirks

The quirk is always on: an animal head, extra arms, owl eyes. Mutant quirks shape how the character looks and lives every day, not only in a fight.

  • always on
  • part of the body
  • visible

Guide

How to make an MHA quirk that feels canon

Good My Hero Academia quirks are simple to say, clever to use, and have a cost. Here is how to get one from the generator and make it your OC’s own.

  1. 1

    Pick a quirk type

Emitter, Transformation or Mutant, or leave it on Any. The type decides whether the power leaves the body, changes it, or is always part of it.

  2. 2

    Choose one or two themes

Fire, sound, paper, gravity, animals and more. Two themes that do not usually meet, like Glass and Sound, give the most original quirks.

  3. 3

Set the role and power level

Hero student, pro hero, vigilante, villain or support course. A Powerful quirk comes with a heavy drawback, a Utility quirk wins with clever tricks.

  4. 4

Add a bit of your OC

An inspiration line like "grew up on a fishing boat" pulls the quirk toward your character’s story. Add a hero name if you already have one.

  5. 5

Register it and draw your hero

Read the drawbacks and special moves, regenerate until it clicks, then press Draw this hero. The quirk, hero name and costume load straight into the MHA OC creator.
