FREE CLAN CEREMONY WORKSHOP

Warrior Cat Name Generator

A Clan name grows with its cat. This free warrior cat name generator rolls ten original prefix and suffix pairs at once, then follows your chosen cat through kit, apprentice, warrior, medicine cat and leader names. The warrior cats name generator with description adds a pelt, eyes and personality, while a separate warrior cat clan name generator invents a new Clan for your own territory. Open a candidate on the naming scroll, lock a part you like and reroll the rest. Everything here runs in your browser with no sign-up.

  • Ten names per roll and five life stages on one scroll
  • Pelt, eyes, personality and invented Clan ideas
  • Canon-name filtering, local favorites and PNG export

Sample ceremonies

Six original cats with room to grow

Each illustration gives one possible appearance for the written name. The story is only a beginning: change the mentor, territory, relationships or rank to make the cat yours. These cats are original examples, not illustrations of established Warriors characters.

Original warrior cat Damsonwhisper

Damsonwhisper

WindClan · silver tabby · amber eyes

patient and observant

Damsonwhisper watches the grass move before crossing open ground. As Damsonkit, she learned to listen for small sounds while her denmates raced ahead. Her silver tabby coat blends into dawn light, but her amber eyes remain alert. A future apprentice could inherit her quiet habit without sharing her cautious nature.

Original warrior cat Tamariskstride

Tamariskstride

RiverClan · smoky black · leaf green eyes

curious and loyal

Tamariskstride tests every shallow crossing and remembers who needs help getting across. The smoky black pelt looks blue beside water, while bright green eyes follow fish and friends alike. Their warrior suffix suggests steady movement through difficult terrain, not a claim that they never hesitate.

Original warrior cat Quincesong

Quincesong

SkyClan · cream tortoiseshell · sky blue eyes

quietly stubborn

Quincesong carries a tune back to camp after a long patrol. The cream tortoiseshell patches are easy to recognize in a tree, and her blue eyes fix on a branch before she leaps. She speaks softly at gatherings but keeps asking hard questions when a plan seems unfair.

Original warrior cat Vetchglimmer

Vetchglimmer

ThunderClan · warm ginger with white chest · copper eyes

bold and generous

Vetchglimmer is first to share prey and last to admit being cold. A warm ginger coat and white chest make him conspicuous on a shaded trail. His copper eyes catch the last light of evening, which inspired the suffix after a difficult border patrol.

Original warrior cat Boragebreeze

Boragebreeze

ShadowClan · brown with pale dapples · pale green eyes

careful and inventive

Boragebreeze knows which moss dries quickly and which path stays firm after rain. Pale dapples break up the brown pelt beneath leaves. Her green eyes are gentle, but she can improvise a route when an old trail floods. A medicine cat path would suit her curiosity, though it is not her only future.

Original warrior cat Rosehiptrail

Rosehiptrail

WindClan · soft blue-grey · hazel eyes

playful and determined

Rosehiptrail turns patrol work into a game of finding overlooked tracks. The blue-grey coat catches mist along the moor, and hazel eyes brighten when a denmate joins the search. Rosehipstar would be a possible leader name, but she has years of ordinary friendships to live first.

Name paths

Follow the name through a whole life

The prefix persists as a cat grows, while ceremonies change the ending. Use the scroll to compare all stages and the role selector to see the current name. A strong OC also needs a reason the final suffix feels earned.

Kit names

A newborn keeps a descriptive or nature-inspired prefix and uses -kit. You might choose a visible detail such as a pale patch, a season that shaped the family, or a plant near the nursery. The name does not need to predict the cat’s adult job. In a story, parents may choose a hopeful name even if the kit grows in an unexpected direction.

  • Birth prefix
  • -kit ending
  • Family choice

Apprentice names

When training starts, -paw replaces -kit. The mentor, first responsibilities and new friendships can matter more than a dramatic change in personality. Try the apprentice stage on the scroll and ask what the cat still has to learn. If you are planning a comic, this name can label an early design without losing the identity carried by the prefix.

  • Same prefix
  • -paw ending
  • Training scene

Warrior ceremonies

A completed warrior ceremony gives a full suffix. Many suffixes evoke nature, movement, appearance or character; they do not have one fixed dictionary meaning. A cat might receive -stride after patient travels or -song after a voice that steadies others. Read the combined name aloud and consider whether the leader who grants it has noticed the same trait you have.

  • Earned association
  • Read aloud

Medicine cat path

A medicine cat apprentice still carries -paw, then receives a full name after completing training. The role is a branch in the cat’s story, not a separate mandatory suffix pattern. On this tool, select the medicine path to label the role while keeping the chosen full name. Think about how the cat balances learning, care, uncertainty and obligations to the Clan.

  • Apprentice stage
  • Full adult name
  • Caregiving role

Leader names

A leader traditionally receives -star in place of the former warrior suffix. The scroll shows this possible future without assuming every generated cat will become leader. The change can create useful tension: does the prefix still suit the older cat, and what did they give up to reach this role? Save both names if your story spans several seasons.

  • -star ending
  • Possible future
  • Character arc

Invented Clans and territories

The separate Clan-name line combines nature words into an original group name. Treat it as a prompt for terrain, food, shelter and neighboring groups rather than a substitute for the cat’s current setting. The five familiar Clans remain selectable for fan work. An invented Clan needs its own customs and relationships before its name feels like part of a living world.

Guide

How Clan naming works

A memorable Clan name can come from a random roll, but it becomes personal when you connect sound, appearance and a short piece of history. These steps work whether you are naming a kit for a roleplay, designing a warrior for art or outlining a longer arc.

  1. 1

    Pick a birth prefix

Roll once and scan the ten candidates beside the ceremony scroll. Click any one to see its full identity and timeline. Say a few combinations aloud; a prefix and suffix that look pretty on a page may be awkward to call during a fast scene. Keep one clear rhythm, then lock only the prefix or suffix if the other half needs work. The broad banks are designed to keep later rolls fresh.

  2. 2

    Trace the ceremony

Choose ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan or SkyClan as a familiar setting, or use the separate invented Clan idea for your own territory. Consider the shape of the camp and what a cat notices on patrol. A river home might train attention to water, yet an individual cat can dislike swimming. A Clan is a social environment, not a complete personality generator.

  3. 3

    Build a cat with description

Read the kit and apprentice names on the scroll before settling on the adult name. Imagine one memory from each period: a nursery game, a training mistake and a task that earned trust. Warrior and medicine cat paths both take full adult names, while the leader line offers a possible later -star form. Select the rank you are writing now rather than treating every line as a role the cat has already held.

  4. 4

    Imagine another Clan

Roll an invented Clan in the separate Clan name field. It is a worldbuilding idea; the selected canon Clan remains the cat’s current setting until you change it.

  5. 5

Test the new Clan name separately

The warrior cat clan name generator rolls a different group name without altering the cat’s identity. Lock it if the terrain it suggests feels promising, or reroll it alone. Describe how that Clan finds shelter, shares food and handles visitors. If the name resembles an existing canon group, try another. A plausible Clan is built from daily routines and relationships as much as from a strong compound name.

  6. 6

Keep a version and draw the cat

Favorite the candidate in this browser, copy the text to your own notes or export the naming scroll as a PNG. Draw this OC opens the Warriors OC creator with the cat name, Clan, pelt, eyes and temperament ready to edit. You can revise all of those before requesting an image.
