Feathered wings, can fly and walk on clouds, and is responsible for the weather. Many grow up in Cloudsdale.

A horn that channels magic. Most can levitate objects, and the glow of their magic usually matches their eye or mane color.

Wings and a horn together, and very rare in canon. Fans expect a reason, so give yours a history and at least one real limitation.

Leathery wings, tufted ears and slit pupils. A fan favorite thanks to the night guards, perfect for nocturnal OCs.

Shapeshifters with insect wings and a carapace. Reformed changelings are colorful and feed on shared love. They do not get cutie marks.

Deer-like ponies with scales, a single horn and a flowing mane. Known for keeping their emotions calm, and for what happens when they do not.
Names and marks
The two details fans notice first. Mix a name from a look word and a talent word, then choose a cutie mark that shows what your pony is good at. Every click goes straight onto your pony in the generator.
look word + talent word
Pick the talent your pony is known for.
Guide
A memorable pony OC comes down to five decisions. The generator handles the drawing; these are the parts worth thinking about first.
A pegasus weather writer and a unicorn librarian live very different lives. Choose the type first and let the rest follow.
One coat color plus one or two mane colors reads clearly at small sizes and makes your pony easy to recognize. Use the eye color as an accent.
The cutie mark appears when a pony discovers their special talent, so it should hint at what they do. Keep it a simple symbol with no letters, two or three colors at most.
Pony names usually pair a talent with a look or a feeling, like Sourdough Sunrise or Stormquill. Avoid reusing names of main characters so your OC stands on its own.
Ponyville, Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Manehattan and the Crystal Empire each suggest a different lifestyle. A hometown gives you a backstory for free.
