Headcanon types

Kinds of headcanons, explained

A headcanon is a detail a fan believes about a character that canon never confirms. These are the kinds people ask for most, and each one is a topic you can pick in the generator.

Daily life

Mornings, chores, how they make coffee, what their room looks like. Small routine details make a character feel real fast.

  • routines
  • rooms
  • mornings

Habits & quirks

The things they do without noticing: tapping a pen, renaming their plants, talking to their weapon. Fans quote these the most.

  • tics
  • collections
  • pet peeves

Comfort & fluff

Soft headcanons about kindness, care and safe places. Good for cozy fanfic and for characters who rarely get a quiet scene.

  • kindness
  • care
  • safe places

Funny headcanons

Running jokes and small disasters. Funny headcanons work best when they fit the character, not when they make them act out of character.

  • running jokes
  • mishaps
  • banter

Backstory

Childhood, first memories and how they became who they are. Great for OCs who need a past before a story starts.

  • childhood
  • firsts
  • turning points

Two-character headcanons

How two characters act together: best friends, rivals, siblings, mentor and student, or a sweet couple. Use Two characters mode.

  • duos
  • rivals
  • couples

Group and friendship

Squads, teams, families and friend groups. Who cooks, who starts the fights, who remembers birthdays. Use Group mode.

  • teams
  • found family
  • friend groups

Modern AU

The character dropped into a modern world with phones, jobs and school. A fan favorite for fantasy and historical casts.

  • phones
  • jobs
  • school

Guide

How to create headcanon lists that feel canon

The best character headcanons sound like something the author forgot to mention. Here is how to get there with the generator and a little editing.

  1. 1

Name the character and where they are from

Type a character name and the show, game or book they come from, or "My OC" for an original character. The source tells the AI which world and personality to stay true to.

  2. 2

    Pick a mode

One character for a single favorite, Two characters for a duo or a couple, Group for a squad or friend group, and Random when you want the generator to invent the character too.

  3. 3

    Choose topics and a tone

Pick up to four topics, like Daily life or Hidden talents, and a tone from Wholesome to Chaotic. Add notes for anything the AI should know, like a scar, a job or a fear.

  4. 4

    Keep the good ones

Pin your favorite headcanons, remove the ones that miss, and generate again for more. Copy the list or download it as a text file when you are done.

  5. 5

    Use them

Drop them into a fanfic outline, a roleplay bio, or an OC reference sheet. For an original character, press Draw this character to turn the headcanons into art with the OC creator.
