Stereotypes, teams and eliminations, explained
Every camper on Total Drama starts as a stereotype, a short label that tells viewers who they are before they say a word. Pick the stereotype, then the team, and the rest of the camper falls into place.

The goth
The first poster lists Gwen as the Loner, and the Action and World Tour promos call her Goth Girl. Later casts add the goth pair Crimson and Ennui in The Ridonculous Race and Scary Girl in the 2023 revival. A goth OC can wear black without copying Gwen: skip the teal streaks and teal lipstick and pick an accent color of your own.

The jock
The first poster labels Tyler the Jock, and the running joke is that he is bad at sports. Later casts bring Jo, Lightning and Sky, each competitive in a different way. A jock OC needs a sport, a rival and one thing they are hopeless at.

The bookworm
Brains have their own lane in the cast: Noah the Schemer, Harold the Dweeb, Cameron the Bubble Boy, Scarlett the Quiet Brainiac and Millie, the Book-Smart One of the 2023 cast. Give a bookworm OC one subject they know cold and one physical challenge they dread.

The queen bee
Heather is the Queen Bee on the first poster. In The Big Sleep she talks Lindsay and Beth into an alliance by promising them the final three, and she runs it until Beth quits. A queen bee OC rules the cabin through favors and deals, so give yours a plan and someone who sees through it.

The party kid
The first poster calls Owen the Party Guy, the Action promos give Geoff the same label, and the 2023 cast has Bowie, the Loveable Party Boy. A party OC is the camper everyone likes, so give them a reason someone might still vote them off.

Teams
Season one splits 22 campers into the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass, eleven each, and every team cabin has a boys' side and a girls' side. The teams dissolve at the merge in episode 14. Later seasons add new pairs: the Toxic Rats and Mutant Maggots, the Heroic Hamsters and Villainous Vultures, and the Frogs of Death and Ferocious Trout.

The campfire ceremony
The losing team votes in the confessional, then meets host Chris McLean at the campfire. He hands a marshmallow to every camper who is safe; the one left without walks the Dock of Shame and leaves on the Boat of Losers.

The confessional and audition tapes
In season one the confession cam is an old outhouse with a camera taped to the door, where campers vote and talk through their plans. Contestants get on the show by sending in an audition tape, and fan OC camp applications usually ask for one too.

Guide
How to create your own Total Drama Island character
Whenever fans create Total Drama character designs for OC camps, roleplays and fan fiction, the same choices come up. Whether you create your own TDI character for a camp application or just for fun, decide these five things first; the generator handles the drawing.
- 1
Start with a stereotype, then bend it
The show casts every camper from a label and then breaks it: Tyler is a jock who is bad at sports, and Noah is a schemer who barely schemes. Pick a tile or write your own label, then add the twist that makes it yours.
- 2
Make the outfit say the label
Total Drama designs read at a glance: one everyday outfit, one main color, one signature item. Pack what a teen would bring to summer camp, and stay away from canon signatures like Gwen's teal streaks, Duncan's green mohawk or Owen's maple-leaf shirt.
- 3
Write a personality, not just a label
Likes, dislikes, a fear for the Phobia Factor challenge and one habit that annoys the whole cabin give your camper scenes to play. If you get stuck, the character headcanon generator suggests habits and quirks to build from.
- 4
Pick a team and a game style
Decide how your camper plays before you decide who they ally with: hero, villain, strategist, underdog or wild card. All-Stars split its cast into the Heroic Hamsters and the Villainous Vultures, so either side fits the lore.
- 5
Film the audition tape
Canon contestants get on the show by sending an audition tape, and OC camp forms usually ask for one. Write two or three lines your camper says to the camera, then set the Background to Confessional for a picture to match.

Most Total Drama Island make your own character games are picrews: in a dress-up Total Drama maker or Total Drama Island maker, character parts come from one artist, so every camper shares the same pose and pieces. Most results for "Total Drama maker character" games are tools like these. This Total Drama OC creator draws a new picture from your choices, so the outfit, hair and signature item come out as your own. Think of it as a Total Drama character maker that does the drawing for you.
Yes. TDI is short for Total Drama Island, the 2007 first season and the title of the 2023 revival, and many fans say TDI OC for a camper from any season. Use it to create Total Drama Island character art or a camper from a later season: this TDI OC maker works under either name and for every season, from Action and World Tour to Pahkitew Island, so call it a TDI character creator or a Total Drama one.
The Stereotype picker has five classics: goth, jock, bookworm, queen bee and party kid. The show has used dozens more labels, from the Schemer and the Wannabe to the Moonchild and the Human Soundboard. To create your own Total Drama character with a label no canon camper has, leave the picker empty and describe it in Extra details, or take a title from the name mixer.
A Total Drama make-your-own-character application should include a name, age, stereotype, team, personality, a fear and a short audition tape. Generate the picture first and put it at the top of the form. Match the outfit and signature item in the image to what the camper says in the audition.
Season one splits the campers into the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass. Later seasons bring the Toxic Rats and Mutant Maggots, the Heroic Hamsters and Villainous Vultures, and the 2023 Frogs of Death and Ferocious Trout. Pick one in the Team field. Fans who create Total Drama Island characters for an OC camp often invent a new team, which you can write in Extra details.
Yes. Pick Hero, Villain, Strategist, Underdog or Wild card in Game style. All-Stars split its cast into the Heroic Hamsters and the Villainous Vultures, and the series has a long line of antagonists, from Heather to Alejandro to Julia, so a villain OC fits the show. Give them a plan, not just a mean streak.
Give your camper one thing they are great at, one challenge they would lose and a reason someone might vote them off. The common trap is a camper who wins every challenge, dates a canon favorite and hides a tragic secret. The show's own cast is built on flaws: a jock who is bad at sports, a schemer who barely schemes.
Yes. This Total Drama Island OC creator has a Background picker with the campfire ceremony pit, the Dock of Shame, the outhouse confessional, the cliff from the first challenge and the mess hall. Keep Plain for a clean profile picture or reference sheet.
Full body is the default output, so your camper comes out head to sneakers with the signature item in view. Set Output to Ref sheet and the Total Drama creator draws front, side and back views with palette swatches, handy for an OC camp form or a commission.
Keep Anime: with the Total Drama style built in, this TDI character maker gives the show's cartoon look, with bold outlines, flat colors and lanky teen proportions. Pick Chibi for stickers and icons, Sketch for pencil art or 3D for a toy-like figure.
Posting your OC in fandom spaces, as a profile picture, in an OC camp or in roleplay is what it is made for. It also works as a Total Drama avatar creator: pick Portrait for a profile picture. Total Drama was created by Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis and is produced by Fresh TV, with Cake Entertainment distributing it internationally and Cartoon Network airing it in the US, so check their fan art rules before selling merchandise.
Yes. Use the Total Drama Island OC maker to draw a camper, then write their audition and challenge strengths separately. Give the outfit one memorable prop that still reads clearly in a small cast portrait.
Make your Total Drama Island OCs one at a time, giving each a different silhouette, color palette and reason to enter the competition. Save a separate description for every camper so their outfits and props stay distinct.
